Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves – who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But honestly, who are you to not be so?

You are a child of God, small games do not work in this world. For those around us to feel peace, it is not example to make ourselves small. We were born to express the glory of god that lives in us. It is not in some of us, it is in all of us. While we allow our light to shine, we unconsciously give permission for others to do the same. When we liberate ourselves from our own fears, simply our presence may liberate others.

Marianne Williamson, i think you'd know better than to post someone elses quote and write it off as your own. That quote was said by Nelson Mandela in 1994 as an inaugural speech. If you're gonna post one of the greatest quotes known to man, at least give credit to the person who said it. You're considered to be plagurizing right now.

Excuse me? It's really smart to get your facts right before you start to go off on people. Although Nelson Mandela is one of my heros and i think pretty highly of him (all with me being an african american) but i like to give people their credit. Nelson Mandela did not write this poem. This poem was actually written by Marianne Williamson (published too) and Nelson Mandela used it in one of his speeches without quoting her. So before you open you mouth get your facts straight. If you look anywere (library, autobiograpy, our even just typing it in on the internet and taking a quick look at wikipedia) it would clearly state that it was created by her and is falsly accredited to Nelson Mandela.

If it wasn't for the false attribute of the quote to Someone of such incredible and magnificent stature as Nelson Mandela, I know I would never have given the passage a second thought or notice. Hollywood continues to force it into more meaningful context via script usage, which is why it has continued to bounce around the internet and get attention. Best of luck.
